On 26 November 2025, CTH@Leipzig will hold a roundtable, What is Transimperial History?. Presenters will include Nadin Hee, Daniel Hedinger, Satoshi Mizutani, and Tomoki Yamada, all of whom are CTH members.

On 1 August, CTH will hold the 7th Research Showcase Series, ‘Competition and the exceptionalist politics of comparison: Atrocity narratives on India and Korea in the emergence of Anglo-Japanese colonial rivalry’, featuring Prof. Satoshi Mizutani as the speaker.

On 27 June 2025, CTH will hold the 6th Research Showcase Series, ‘Gendering Cross-Colonial Solidarity and Critique: Feminizing Korea in Colonial India, 1905-1932’, featuring Dr Aaron Peters as the guest speaker.

On December 3rd at 10 AM Italian time, Professor Satoshi Mizutani, Co-Director of the Center for Transimperial History, will present a paper entitled “Anticolonialism and Decolonization from a Transimperial Perspective ” at an online session. This session is part of the conference organised by the research project in Italy, “Imperial Entanglements.”

CTH is delighted to announce the fourth session of its ‘Research Showcase Series,’ featuring Dr Giovanni Costenaro on 29 November. The talk is titled European Trans-Imperial Corporate Cooperation in the French Colonies: The Eurafrican Illusion in Italy and West Germany, 1950–1960.

CTH is delighted to announce that we will hold the second session of our Research Showcase Series on 23 February 2024, with Ms Vicky Shen (University of Pittsburgh) as a speaker.

On 30 November 2023, three members of CTH participated in the 66th African Studies Association Annual Meeting in San Francisco, where, along with two other participants, they organised a panel entitled ‘Crossing Imperial Boundaries: Transimperial Circulations and Anti-colonial Strategies’. Tomoki Yamada and Sakiko Nakao presented papers titled ‘Tanganyika and Indians in the Interwar Transimperial Settings: Colonial Aspirations and Anti-colonial Petitioning’ and ‘Africa for Africans and Asia for Asians? An Imagined Transimperial Alliance for Racial Resistance’, respectively. Satoshi Mizutani served as a discussant.
